USB ports stop working

I am informing about a problem regarding my USB-ports. I recently acquired a wireless mouse ( the Steelseries Aerox 3 wireless) which comes with a wireless adapter that works over 2.4 GHz. Once I tried to plug in the adapter, my USB-ports started to shut down and turn on again for 3 to 4 times. After the fourth time the USB ports completely stopped working until I rebooted my computer. The same problem occurs when I plug in the wireless mouse via cable. I find this problem interesting, because I am also using a wireless keyboard that connects over 2.4GHz, but without any problems.
