Seth Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Thanks Wolfey, but Networking is actually one of weaker points. Strikes, Have you ever had the laptop online with wireless? When a laptop has a key or switch that needs to be on for the wireless, it is normally accompanied by a light indicating that it is on. Does yours have a light and is it on? When you "View available wireless networks", what happens? Can you also post back with the model number which is usually on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop. strikes Posted January 3, 2008 Author Posted January 3, 2008 ive had the laptop working before with the wireless, there isnt a light but when you press fn+f1 together it turns the wireless on and the little monetor in the bottom right has a red crossd and they vanishes when ya press the button. when i "view available wireless network" the screen pops up and when i refresh network list it cant find anything, modal number i think is MIT-RHEA-C thats all i can find number wise Quote
Seth Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 I'm just looking into the model... In the meantime, right click on My Computer and choose Manage>Device Manager. Click on the plus sign beside Network Adapters. Right click on your wireless adapter and choose uninstall. Now restart the computer and the wireless card will be re-installed. Go back into Device Manager and look at the wireless card again. It should not have a ! or a ? in front of it. Now right click on the card and choose Properties. It should say The Device Is Working Properly. Now try to view the available wireless networks. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help.
