Guest Flat Earth Society Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 Why doesn't Microsoft sell Microsoft Bob anymore? I used to love the way it made Windows look and want it for XP. Apparently Bill's wife was the product manager for Microsoft Bob when she was still just his girlfriend. Look, it's great and I miss all the friendly animals to click on.
Guest Bruce Hagen Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Re: Where to get Microsoft Bob for XP? AFAIK, that was only available for Windows 3.1 & 95. Guest David Webb Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Re: Where to get Microsoft Bob for XP? This article has two download links for a zipped copy of version 1.00A: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/06/27/microsoft-bob-free-download-on-every-windows-xp-cd-and-video-demo/ They claim that it will run on Windows 3.1, 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP and Vista. Compatibility mode required for XP and Vista. They also state: "Note that Microsoft Bob is not freeware nor shareware, although it may be abandonware, so install it at your own risk and legal consequences." Google for other resources and comments, if need be. Kids couldn't get their parents to fork out $100 along with the then high cost of adding more RAM. Microsoft didn't make any revenue in the uberboob market to which this product caters. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Bob http://www.bentuser.com/article.aspx?ID=327 http://www.howden.net.nz/wiki/index.php/Microsoft_Bob
