Guest Ginnie Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Re: Text Color Changes Hi - changed from True Color 1024x768 to High Color 1024x768 - same thing - changed back - not sure how this shows up but changes from as I mentioned - black to a purple and back. Thanks for the suggestion. Guest Ginnie Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Re: Text Color Changes tried 800x600 also a few others - went back to my standard 1024x768 - looked ok for over a day - then went back to purple - but people I have asked say everything they receive is in black - so the problem is what I type - and actually right now all of this typing is in black - really strange!!!! thanks again "Elmo" wrote: > Ginnie wrote: > > Hi - thanks once again for all the help I am getting - but changed to 800x600 > > and same problem - as I am typing now everything is purple and black. > > > > > > "Elmo" wrote: > > > >> Ginnie wrote: > >>> Thanks - in a previous message I stated that it is set to standard = > >>> > >>> "Kelly" wrote: > >>> > >>>> Have you tried to disable Clear Type? > >>>> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306527 > >>>> -- > >>>> > >>>> All the Best, > >>>> Kelly (MS-MVP/DTS&XP) > >>>> > >>>> Taskbar Repair Tool Plus! > >>>> http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/taskbarplus!.htm > >>>> > >>>> SupportSpace > >>>> http://www.supportspace.com/pages?aiu=kellyskorner > >>>> > >>>> "Ginnie" <Ginnie@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > >>>> news:5AFB6FC5-4488-4F62-A770-5476E3FC67F6@microsoft.com... > >>>>> Yesterday my browser which is Yahoo but also IE - had me do an uninstall > >>>>> and > >>>>> reinstall - still same problem - really strange - Thanks for any help > >>>>> > >>>>> "Elmo" wrote: > >>>>> > >>>>>> Ginnie wrote: > >>>>>>> Hi - changed from True Color 1024x768 to High Color 1024x768 - same > >>>>>>> thing - > >>>>>>> changed back - not sure how this shows up but changes from as I > >>>>>>> mentioned - > >>>>>>> black to a purple and back. > >>>>>>> Thanks for the suggestion. > >>>>>>> > >>>>>>> "Elmo" wrote: > >>>>>>> > >>>>>>>> Ginnie wrote: > >>>>>>>>> Thanks for the reply - when checked what you told me to - it is set > >>>>>>>>> to > >>>>>>>>> standard - this really strange. > >>>>>>>>> > >>>>>>>>> "Ginnie" wrote: > >>>>>>>>> > >>>>>>>>>> Just within the past 2 weeks - text color changes from a bold black > >>>>>>>>>> to > >>>>>>>>>> regular black and then purple - not sure if is shows on this > >>>>>>>>>> question - but it > >>>>>>>>>> changes as I type - Thanks for any help using XP sp3 > >>>>>>>> That's probably because the monitor is set to the wrong resolution. > >>>>>>>> Change it to its optimal resolution and see what happens. > >>>>>>>> > >>>>>>>> -- > >>>>>>>> Joe =o) > >>>>>> 1024x768 may not be the best dpi resolution; if wrong, pixels bleed over > >>>>>> into the adjacent "dot" and that can be the cause.
