Windows 10 revert from education to pro

I upgraded parts in my personal computer and my windows key was no longer valid. My university was offering a free key, and I didn't realize it was for the education version and not pro. Now my personal computer is in some kind of limbo where it is being "administered" by the university but it is not one of their computers. How do I revert back to Windows 10 Pro and disassociate my PC from my university account while retaining the data on my PC? I can not perform a clean install as I have been using this PC since 2013 and am not willing to start from scratch. I have already made a system backu
