A couple of days ago I turned on my Dell Inspiron 700 laptop and received the

message STOP: c000021a (fatal system error) the windows logon process system

process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000005 (0x00000000

0x00000000) The system has been shutdown. I have tried rebooting in safe

mode but get multiple *.exe application error and am unable to access

anything, not AOL, IE Explorer, GoogleUpdater. Am at a total loss and don't

even know where to begin. I have 1024MB of memory and 100GB of RAM with 13

available. Any suggestions?

Did you install any Hardware/Software recently?

Log into Safe Mode and try to perform System Restore.

In safe Mode click Start >> All programs >> Accessories >> System Tools >>

System Restore and pick up a Restore point to restore your system.

It will do the reboot and the rstore will procedure pay attention to it and

see if it was successful or not.

Or

Try the Last Good known configuration by following these steps here on this

You might have a corrupted file system or a damaged disk. Back up your

important files (including your EMail files!), then boot into the Recovery

Console and run chkdsk.

Post again if unsure how to back up your files or how to boot into the

Recovery Console.
