Guest Marco Castro Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Hi, I'm experiencing a strange problem in my Windows XP (Version 2002 Service Pack 3). I have IE7 installed and it seems to be IE7 (7.0.5730.13). But I have two problems: 1. My bank account site says that I have a IE below than 5.5. When I try to type a number in an Edit Box that handles 4 digits, it moves to the next Edit Box when I type 3 didgits. 2. I try to connect to a Remote Server and my password is not acnowleged (in other micros it works). Any clue other than reinstall everything (I have 74 installed programs in it)? Thanks, Marco Castro

Guest Terry Preuit Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Re: Strange trouble in IE7 I'm giving ten to one odds that the problems are on the remote machines, caused by web developers who got lazy and want you to buy a new computer rather than fix their web sites. Guest Milt Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 RE: Strange trouble in IE7 Marco, When I updated form IE 6 to IE 7, I found that it caused some problems I couldn't resolve. So I uninstalled IE 7 by using Add and Remove Programs in Windows Control Panel. That restored IE 6 and corrected my problems. I then set Microsoft Updates to "hide" IE 7 Update. If you updated from IE 6 to IE 7 you might want to try that too. MIlt "Marco Castro" wrote: > Hi, > > I'm experiencing a strange problem in my Windows XP (Version 2002 Service > Pack 3). They might do this if you come to them with a well presented case as to why they should. They are testing to see what type of web browser you are using as well as what version number it reports. A version number that is out-of-range on their checklist will be treated the same way a browser that is too old would be treated. The issue with the "edit box" or form field will need more of a fix. It sounds like a scripting problem to me. I would uninstall IE7 and be done with it. You might consider use of another browser, such as Mozilla's Firefox, Apple's Safari, or Opera. (As far as I'm concerned, IE7 on XP is very ugly looking and not almost the smoothest experience. And it's just not appreciably more secure based on the computers that have it and still come in loaded with malware.) You can safely uninstall IE7 in most cases if you are not happy with it. Look in the Control Panel at Add/Remove programs. William
