So here's what happened. I was playing a game and I hit a key a bit abnormally harder than one should hit a key on a keyboard and the screen just flipped out. There are red lines everywhere and they sometimes move around and they are dotted. Sometimes, but rarely, I move my laptop and the patterns change, sometimes making the screen completely red and sometimes, making the screen normal. I am running Windows Vista Home Basic on a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop. I'm guessing that it is just the hardware under the D key that has shifted or something because I can still get it back to normal by moving it, but I don't know how to open the laptop to get at the parts to re-sit the CPU. If I am off track with my prediction on what happened, please tell me what you think happened and how to fix it. Thanks guys! Here is a screenshot of my desktop. http://i46.tinypic.com/acg8wn.jpg Edited by IcyProtocol

Hi and welcome to ExTS

Unless I am missing something - I see no red lines / dots on your screenshot - unless you are referring to the vertical and horizontal effect that looks like canvas ?

You could have disturbed the Video Card ( if this machine has one ) - I doubt if it is the CPU.

There are a couple of useful videos here:

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
