OneDrive wont let me retick my desktop after i unticked it from syncing, now its **** me over. please help.

I dont pay for any storage sub for onedrive, I dont WANT to so since OneDrive syncs everything I download, it constantly runs out of storage. When it does that it also likes to put little red Xs and other green ✓s. I was really annoyed at constantly seeing these icons on every single desktop icon and even in my folders, so i went and found out how to get rid of them.Following a Microsoft support thread I unticked my desktop from syncing, after, it suddenly rid my desktop of a ton of icons. ok no biggie i just had to pull them back out, which i did. A few days later i log on and play a game a
