bradleyg11 Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 hi guys ive just put my gpu back in after my pc was shutting down every 10 seconds ive sort of fixed that, but now my gpu fan is at the maximum speed by the sound of it an theres no display Quote
BeeCeeBee Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 ive sort of fixed that, Well apparently not. :) There can be a number of causes from simply not seating the GPU properly when it was reinstalled to a complete failure of the card. I am assuming that when you opened the case there was no visible dust or foreign material that could have been interfering with the card or causing the machine to overheat. It could also be that the initial problem was not actually caused by the GPU and that you may have a heat (or other) issue with the CPU or a fault in the motherboard or even a RAM issue. Does you computer have onboard graphics as well? If so what happens when you remove the GPU completely and attach your monitor to the onboard graphics? More information about your machine would be helpful. Quote "Familiarity breeds contempt - and children." Mark Twain
bradleyg11 Posted June 23, 2012 Author Posted June 23, 2012 well ive got a other problem now. when i take out my 4x4 cpu pins connected to my psu the gpu makes the loud fast speed noises and no display, but when the 4x4 pins are connected the gpu goes to normal speed, but my pc only stays on for 10 seconds Quote
BeeCeeBee Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I will ask you again about on board graphics? Do you have them? Quote "Familiarity breeds contempt - and children." Mark Twain
BeeCeeBee Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 It looks like you have 2 threads running on what amounts to the same issue. Since KenB is dealing with it I suggest you stick to one thread before thing get really confused. http://extremetechsupport.com/threads/13712-need-help-badly-computer-cuts-after-10-seconds Quote "Familiarity breeds contempt - and children."
