Plastic Nev Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Hi and welcome to Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help John. Can you please tell us exactly which model and number (if any) please. How did you perform the reset to factory settings? If done from a recovery partition it should have either reinstalled Windows 7 or left the operating system alone. When new did you create any system restore disk or disks? In most cases where that is needed there is a warning at or from first start up to do so, did you get anything like that from new? If Windows 7 has been lost and is not on the recovery partition, you may have to write to Acer for them to send replacement disks, which they may charge a small fee for. Let us know any answers to my questions and we will see if we can go further. Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. Register here. KenB Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Hi I had a problem with the laptop and reset to factory settings. You say you "had" a problem .......was this resolved or are we dealing with it now ? If it used to boot after restoring factory settings ....... One simple thing you can try is ............ take the hard disk out and re-insert it. It could have worked lose.
