Wired series X controller connects briefly, then stops working while still getting power

My series x controller has been working fine for a few months, but recently it started doing this thing where the light will turn on when I plug it in, and it will connect and work for about 3 seconds, then will stop working but the light stays on. I checked the Xbox accessories app and it only shows up as a device for those 3 ish seconds, then it disappears. Same with my device manager.I tried unplugging and plugging back in, I tried deleting and reinstalling my controller drivers, I tried rebooting my pc with it plugged in, I tried rebooting with it unplugged and then plugging it in once reb
