Guest Tester Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Hi there, I have some remote XP machines on a remote subnet far from the domain controller. How do I make one master browser for that subnet? Thank you, T

Browser elections happen all the time and each subnet will naturally elect a Browse Master for each Domain/Workgroup on that subnet. If there is not a browse master or there are more than one -- this can be caused by a firewalled computer on that subnet. If you're trying to force one specific machine to become the browse master, you can stuff the ballot box using the "isDomainMaster" registry entry.
