Not letting me sign in

When I try sign in to my account, its telling me I need to connect to the internet first, even though I am connected. This is only happening on my laptop, and I've been able to sign in on my mobile phone problem-free. I have also tried signing in using a hotspot but its giving me the same error. Any help? Also, I was able to sign into an empty account I had made using a pass key, so I don't believe it's a problem with my laptop or internet. Any help? Also I should note, that the account I'm referring to only signs me in when I send a verification code to my email first. Edit: when I tried so s
