Guest Dave Stanway Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Hello, We need to run Word & Excel within Terminal Services sessions. I understand I need a volume licensing for this, but does anyone know if we have to purchase the entire Office suite? We only need the two applications. Any help? -- Dave Stanway Corona Network Solutions
Guest Jeff Pitsch Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Re: Using Word & Excel 2007 in TS If you can get volume licensing for them, I would think that you can run them individually. I know they can be installed individually. Jeff Pitsch Microsoft MVP - Terminal Services Dave Stanway wrote: > Hello, > > We need to run Word & Excel within Terminal Services sessions. Guest TP Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Re: Using Word & Excel 2007 in TS Hi, It is less expensive to purchase Office 2007 Standard than it is to buy Word and Excel individually. Standard includes Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook. For example, under Open Business Standard is $325.74 (plus media kit) at this reseller: http://www.provantage.com/~1350022697.htm Whereas each individual app is $185.36 (plus media kits): http://www.provantage.com/~1350022840.htm http://www.provantage.com/~1350022936.htm If you have many devices this price difference really adds up (Office is licensed per physical device). -TP Dave Stanway wrote: > Hello, > > We need to run Word & Excel within Terminal Services sessions. Guest Dave Stanway Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Re: Using Word & Excel 2007 in TS Thanks TP. And once I install using the MS volume license the TS sessions will be able to run the app with error? -- Corona Network Solutions "TP" wrote: > Hi, > > It is less expensive to purchase Office 2007 Standard > than it is to buy Word and Excel individually. Guest TP Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Re: Using Word & Excel 2007 in TS Hi, You are welcome. As long as you use one of the volume licensing versions Office 2007 applications will run without the error message at startup. I have successfully used Standard, Professional, and Enterprise volume versions on a TS. -TP Dave Stanway wrote: > Thanks TP.
