Guest Dodge Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 Hi, I'm looking for any tools/softare or a process where in replacing an exising hard drive on a computer, that has a hidden restore partition like IBM, Lenovo, some HP's, that I can clone both the boot partition and the hidden restore partition over to a new larger hard drive, that would then replace the existing internal drive. Seagate tells me their SeaTools will not do this. Acronis tech support has not responded. Thanks in advacne - Dodge

Thanks in advacne - Dodge You can download a trial version of bootitng from http://www.terabyteunlimited.com. Make a boot media, boot, cancel install and go into maintenance mode. You may need to read their online manual if the menu isn't sufficiently intuitive. You might decide you like the product enough to register and install. Great for multi-os support. Dave Cohen

Thanks in advacne - Dodge You can do this with Acronis, but the partitions will be the same size in this mode. You will then use something like Acronis Disk Director to adjust partition sizes as appropriate. HTH -pk
