Guest KEN Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 What is it? I get this option when trying to run a WinXP Repair/Reinstall with my XP CD in the CD drive. I don't think I want it.
Guest AJR Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 Re: Automatic Recovery Console Recovery Console is the first "repair" option when booting from the XP CD - it is the initial repair option whether you want it or not. It provides command line options for XP for repairs that do not require reinstalling the OS. Ignore the console option and setup will proceed and if it detects an installation of XP it will ask if you wish to repair - if you select Yes - an upvrade installation takes place (product key required).
