Guest longhorn Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 I have been having problems with my computer suddenly stopping responding, or freezing. Ultimately I have to reboot. The error message that is generated upon restart is "STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER". I have followed all of the action dictated in the associated KB article, including replacing my video card. Nothing seems to cure the problem. So I am bringing my problem to the group to see if someone has cured this malady before.
Guest Ron Badour Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 Re: Computer stops responding I Googled the error message and there were lots of hits: http://groups.google.com/groups/search?hl=en&q=STOP+0x000000EA+THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER&qt_s=Search+Groups Perhaps you can find some help by reading those posts. -- Regards Ron Badour MS MVP Windows Desktop Experience "longhorn" <longhorn@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:EEB5F0F2-9843-4E07-94E3-6BF5ACCB9DDA@microsoft.com... >I have been having problems with my computer suddenly stopping responding, >or > freezing. Guest Andrew E. Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 RE: Computer stops responding 2 diffrent ways to start,1st open event viewer & locate the error/warning, posted when pc stopped responding.R.click on it,properties. Also, click on the url enclosed with it,this opens "KB help & support" usually with a fix to it..The 2 ways to fix the problem, read kb310560,the other is by going to run, type: VERIFIER However one should read microsofts article(s) on how to use it....
