Guest David H. Lipman Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Re: 192.168.1.255 : 137 From: "Bill K" <billkenn@charter.net> | It is constantly trying to connect. Shall I let it, or is it harmful? | Bill K Chances are this is a NetBIOS over IP broadcast and you state "...constantly trying to connect..." but don't state in what direction or what it is trying to connect to nor how you came about this information. Either 192.168.1.255 is a real node (doubt it) or it is a broadcast meaning any node on the 192.168.1.x network. This is a Private Address scheme which is presumably related to you being behind a NAT Router. This is also a network question and not a WinXP question and should have been posed in a networking realted news group. -- Dave http://www.claymania.com/removal-trojan-adware.html Multi-AV - http://www.pctipp.ch/downloads/dl/35905.asp
