Server Activation?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have purchased a 5 cal license from a vendor and awaiting the

certificates. Do I need these in hand to activate a server for a user

based terminal server. I didn't know if the certificates are going to

have a serial number or something that I will need to activate the

server?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Server Activation?

I'm not sure if you mean activation of the Windows Server OS, or

activation of a TS Licensing Server.

Buth in both cases, the answer is: yes, you can activate without

the license certificates.

Assuming that you mean activation of a TS Licensing Server, you can

do that now, and then later install your TS CALs when you have

received the paperwork.

If you mean activating the server OS itself:

Re: Server Activation?

Yes they will have a code you will need to enter when activating the

licenses.
