Guest jawdoc Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 I have purchased a 5 cal license from a vendor and awaiting the certificates. Do I need these in hand to activate a server for a user based terminal server. I didn't know if the certificates are going to have a serial number or something that I will need to activate the server? Thanks in advance.

Buth in both cases, the answer is: yes, you can activate without the license certificates. Assuming that you mean activation of a TS Licensing Server, you can do that now, and then later install your TS CALs when you have received the paperwork. 325869 - How to activate a License Server by using Terminal Server Licensing in Windows Server 2003 If you mean activating the server OS itself: Description of Microsoft Product Activation http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302806/en-us _________________________________________________________ Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server TS troubleshooting: http://ts.veranoest.net ___ please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email ___ jawdoc <drbrooks@msoms.com> wrote on 12 okt 2008 in microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services: > I have purchased a 5 cal license from a vendor and awaiting the > certificates.
