Guest skymax_taf Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 I have a Windows 2003 R2 server with WINS installed. Opening the WINS console, I get the message - "Can not find the WINs server". I have configured Wins to point to the server it is installed upon. The Wins service is operational and everything looks fine, except the red dot on the server and it stating it can not find the server. What am I overlooking? Thanks

Thanks I found the issue in needing to set the Remote Registry Service to Automatic.

Some consoles need remote registry service running even if you are trying to manage the local machine.
