Exit safe node and command prompt

My laptop is in safe mode and the command prompt keeps coming up when I restart the laptop. When I exit command prompt there is just a black screen. I have seen that I should use the following command: bcdedit /deletevalue {current} safeboot but when I input this is says 'An unknown command was specified. Run bcdedit / ? for command line assistance. I would like to exit this and get out of safe mode so that I can access the normal mode. Please could you assist
