There is no way to answer your question since we don't know anything about your computer, its recent history, or what security software you're running. I would uninstall it per the instructions on their website and see what happens. The most recent AVG has also caused issues, so it could be that too. Again, you left out what changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't so I can't give you more specific help.
