Guest Steven L Chan Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 I am in the process of replacing our Windows 2000 TS with a new Windows 2003 box. I would like to know besides USMT, what other migration tool(s) would help me ease the transition over to the new server? I have about 50 users that I need to migrate. Thanks, Steven

From the system requirements page: "USMT does not support any version of Microsoft Windows Server as either a source or destination system." I'm not so sure that you really want to migrate profiles between different OS versions. They are *not* identical. Redirect My Documents and IE Favorites to a network share. _________________________________________________________ Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server TS troubleshooting: http://ts.veranoest.net *----------- Please reply in newsgroup -------------* "Steven L Chan" <StevenLChan@gmail.com> wrote on 13 okt 2008: > I am in the process of replacing our Windows 2000 TS with a new > Windows 2003 box. > > I would like to know besides USMT, what other migration tool(s) > would help me ease the transition over to the new server? > > I have about 50 users that I need to migrate. > > Thanks, > Steven
Guest Steven L Chan Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Re: Profiles Migration Interesting. Users' My Document is already pointed to a network share. So basically, I would have to recreate all the profiles on the new terminal server? Guest Jeff Pitsch Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Re: Profiles Migration You could buy a 3rd party utility to migrate profiles from someone like Quest software. I"m not sure who else does profile migration at this point but I'm sure there are more if you google.
