Explorer acting strangely. Things not appearing correctly but program runs smooth.

In the past few days, without any changes to my system a number of things seem to have started:Thumbnails of images don't really load. If I restart the computer they seem to be there but when I add a new image, the thumbnail doesn't seem to appear, until I restart again. The bar with the location (that loads when doing searches for example) starts loading without doing anything other than opening the folder. It happens to any folder, and any drive on my computer. Files are often there, but again, no thumbails. The bar gets near 99% of the way but sits for a long time, not unlike some of my sea
