Could someone please tell me how to turn off the hibernation mode on my

computer? I don't want my computer "going to sleep." It interferes with my

cordless mouse and keyboard. I use IE as a browser and my system is Windows

XP. Thanks for any help! :)

Task bar "Start" button.

Control Panel

Power Options (results in a pop-up)

Power Schemes tab

Select among the "Power Schemes", each of which can be customizedd by

the options in the "Settings for..." section.

Right-click on the desktop, choose Properties, and then Screen Saver. In

the bottom section, there's an area for power management. Click on the

button, and that will bring up the dialog that allows you to select these

timings (and turn hibernation off).

It's disabling your mouse and keyboard because you are using XP. On Vista

it doesn't. To come out of hibernation on XP you just press your power

button on your PC lightly, about halfway. If you had Vista you just press

the mouse button to bring it out of hibernation. Hibernation is great

because you never have to turn off your PC completely to conserve power.

Thanks for the help! I've done this before, but I couldn't remember exactly

how. Figured it was better to ask for help.
