Why are two PCs in the same house and same ethernet connection getting massive differences in download speeds.

Me and my brother are both installing the new Fortnite update and I am getting download speeds of 1-8m/s and he is getting speeds of 20-40m/s. We both are connected to ethernet and we both have the same NVME drives in our computers.
