Thumbnails stop showing after so long in File Explorer

I've been having this issue in the last 48-72 hours.I have open Affitinity Photo, where I am dragging and dropping image files from File Explorer.The problem is, I open a folder where these images are - I have them set to Large Icons so I can see a small preview of the image.When I first open the folder, all appears fine. I drag and drop what I need.Then it stops showing me the image preview and the folder location bar at the top has a green progress bar running from left to right that doesn't finish and never goes away. (First two circled examples)Then my task bar has icons disppear from view
