Hi Lisa,

Very odd you should post this.

I've just had the same problem on my mothers XP Home pc.

System booted up ok, then when you go to log in...... it logs in and then logs out straight away.

Tried 'Last Known Good Configuration' ... but that didn't seem to work.

Ran a disc scan .... when that finished, the system booted and worked normally.

Very odd.

I haven't checked to see if there was any Windows Updates that came through today..... you never know if something like that may have caused it.

Does your system boot normally now or are you still having problems?

Hi lisalegs and welcome to ExTS

Is this a laptop or desktop ?

Do you get a Blue Screen when it shuts down?

If so - can you post the STOP Error please ?

If a desktop - take the side panel off ( with the machine switched off of course :) ) and inspect it for dust.

Look especially at the fan on top of the Central Processor.

You can clean it with a soft brush or better still a can of compressed air. [ from any computer shop ]

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
