How do I fix 'Intel High Definition Audio' device not detected in Windows

My ACER laptop no longer recognizes my audio card. However, it does recognize my bluetooth Bose headphones. I installed the latest updates to no avail. I ran the audio troubleshooter, checking for updated drivers but none was found. The device manager has a yellow triangle on the Intel High Definition Audio tab. I've searched the internet to no positive result. Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated.
