How can I install Windows 10 to an external drive without removing my internal system disk?

I have a Windows 10 installation on my SanDisk internal SSD. SFC has been showing corrupt or missing files that it cannot fix. I want to install a fresh Win 10 on my Plextor external ssd and gradually migrate to it, application by application.Autoruns revealed seven missing Known DLLs, which I replaced manually and now there are only three (according to autoruns). I am getting heaps of access violations and cannot change them in their Properties dialog box. xplorer^2 shows incorrect folder sizes, sometimes by a factor of 10. DISM didn't help either. I have had several bluescreens but I think
