Guest astronomer2002 Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 I have two Terminal Servers (Windows 2003) one of them controlling the licences. The second server has just been added to run a specific application. I want each server to have its own licence pool as each caters for a different set of remote users within the same active directory. I cannot see how to do this. I have a 25 pack of licences for one server and a new 10 pack for the other. I do not want to simply top-up the 25 as this will inevitably lead to one group of users hogging the licences. The licencing mode is per user and one server has been in operation for 3 years. Can anyone suggest a way to ration ts cals in this way?
Guest jolteroli Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Re: Multiple Terminal services Servers Licencing split I assume you have TS/LS on the old server and just only TS on the new server!? What you can do, were to install a license server on the second TS too. Then you force each terminal server, to use 127.0.0.1 -- it self -- as the only LS to query for. Now you can split up your license packs on the both servers. Therefor, create the key "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TermService\Parameters\LicenseServers\127.0.0.1" on each TS. After a reboot, each terminal server will contact only itself for licenses and pull them from there. -jolt "astronomer2002" <astronomer2002@discussions.microsoft.com> schrieb im Newsbeitrag news:3356344D-781C-4464-8E44-6FC706C50DC2@microsoft.com... >I have two Terminal Servers (Windows 2003) one of them controlling the > licences. Guest astronomer2002 Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Re: Multiple Terminal services Servers Licencing split Jolt, Many thanks Will try that - didn't think you could have two licencing servers in one Active Directory. Guest jolteroli Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Re: Multiple Terminal services Servers Licencing split You can have as many LS as you want.
