Microsoft have zilched my desktop and reverted my user folders: nightmare

Which means that my user preferences in all my applications have reverted to what they were last year.This happened after clicking oK to something to do with onedrive. I can't tell you how distressing this is. Months of fine-tuning those preferences, including presets and templates, actions, assets - all gone. What have you done? There's enough day-to-day snafus to deal with without you foisting this on usWhat is it about one drive that would make this happen, and is there a way to revert? Can I possibly recover these prefs and presets? ADobe stores preffs in the documents folder. I think
