How do I keep the Desktops of two different PCs from syncing when I connect to Onedrive?

I just bought a PC and logged into Onedrive so that I could get some of the data that I had on my laptop. I wanted to sync the Documents and Pictures section of the Onedrive, but it synced the Desktop section too and created a copy of everything on the Laptop's desktop onto the PC's desktop. These copies are not able to access anything because they are programs and games, so they are basically useless. When I delete the copies off of this PCs desktop, it deletes the original copy on the Laptop's desktop.How to I keep it from syncing the desktop so that it does not make copies of everything ont
