Why is the Minecraft Launcher not installing?

Hello,I've spend the past two days trying to play the Minecraft launcher but clearly this hasn't gone to plan. I got Minecraft Java in July this year and has been fine. The i wanted to play about a week ago and a message came up and said that i'll need to update it. So I clicked update and it did nothing. So then i thought somthing must be down so i came back 2 days ago and it's now saying,"Getting Ready, Checking depencies" and has been saying that since then but it's only now that i've just got a message saying, "Sorry about that! Something went wrong. We're aweare of the issue and working t
