update led to files and photos erased how to get them back?

I did the latest update for my hp windows 11 two days ago. I only realized the first time after it updated that when i went to use it everything was gone photos, files and even bookmarks of websites gone. I ran a virus check but it says there is no virus. What do i do? i need those photos back my mom recently died and i didn't have hers backed up.
