Some of my programs don't maximize to full window

Many of my programs when maximized, they are not maximized to full window.This is annyoing sometimes because when I try yo close the program I end up closing another that is full window maximized on the back.Here I show my problem where firefox gets close and minimized eventhough its in the background:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZZFvCdHnWsThanks
