SBS 2003 SP2 backup failed with error creating volume shadow copy

Recommended Posts

Posted

Error returned while creating the volume shadow copy:0x8007000e.

Symptom is exactly as described in hotfix 907875.

However as SP2 already included fixes for 907875, cannot apply it any more.

Not able to follow workaround solution as no boot.ini file can be found.

Re-registered the vss services only work for two days and failed again.

Server configuration:

Intel Xeon 3GHz

1GB memory

hard disk 150GB, only using 30GB of it

maximum page file size set to 4GB

Any suggestion?

you can find the boot.ini on the root of the C:\ drive

It is hidden and flagged as a system file, on the CMD prompt type:

C:\>attrib boot.ini

and you can see the file

rgds,

Edwin.
