Windows Account Issue after using OneDrive

trying my best to recall what i did...i have set up the (signed in to) OneDrive app in my Laptop 2 (other "new" unit with @outlook.com Microsoft Account) using a @gmail.com Microsoft Account from Laptop 1 (old, broken unit). after syncing files, i noticed that all local folders including the Desktop icons in Laptop 2 are gone but I do see that my Documents, Pictures folders are in One Drive (under the @gmail.com Account, with subscription to Microsoft 365 Basic just purchased/under trial. and then after Pausing Syncing in OneDrive, i removed the laptop 1 from settings, and then reopened OneDri
