Guest David C Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 I noticed that 2 of our Win 2003 servers have some folders under the WINDOWS folder with names like NS9_KB933508_ENU or SQL9_KB933508_ENU, etc. What are these folders for? Are they from hotfix/updates or something? Can I get rid of them and their contents? Thanks. David

Guest David C Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 Re: New folders in system folder No. But there are several folders like that at the top of the windows folder. I always assumed those were uninstall files from past updates. Guest David C Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 Re: New folders in system folder No, they are not. They have folders under them as follows 1028 1031 1033, etc. Most of the files are dll, exe, inf, etc. In the main folder, e.g. NS9_KB933508_ENU there are files such as hotfix.exe, dumpdatastore.dll, dbghelp.dll, msvcr80.dll, etc. David "Meinolf Weber" <meiweb(nospam)@gmx.de> wrote in message news:ff16fb66a1b08cafceda6fa91a0@msnews.microsoft.com... > Hello David, > > Are these .txt?
