Can someone explain to me how Windows Restore Point works?

Upgrading from Windows 10 to 11, and would like to learn how this feature works.I am just learning about this feature and I can't seem to find any information about this.I don't really understand how much space I'm supposed to allocate to it.Or how less than 10 gigabytes is supposed to be able restore 70+ gigabytes of apps.To start off I'll use my existing C drive as an example.It has a capacity of 500GB and about just over half (250+GB) is occupied. I keep my personal files on other drives, so my Windows files, apps and my user folder are on the C drive.It's my understanding that the Restore
