Updating account security credentials - the wait says 30 days to update recovery email preference?

My recovery email tagged to my account has been deleted by the previous institution (a university) and I need access to my Microsoft account because a recent update caused the 0xd0000225 code and my laptop has now locked me out and I need to reset my PIN - but of course to do this it wants to confirm my account through the recovery email that no longer exists. I submitted the request to have my Gmail account replace the inactive mailbox, but it tells me I have to wait 30 days? I need support asap to update my email recovery credentials so I can log back into my laptop.Ideally a chat connection
