Guest Gretchen Hembree Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 I have successfully set up sound through my RDP session. My problem now is that the sound is skipping. I have tried a few tests with sound through IE or sound actually stored on the server HD. Both skip. When you log into the RDP (and have Windows default sound activated) the start up sound does not appear to skip. I am wondering if this is a setting that can be worked on or if it is based on the physical internet connection. I am trying this from a remote site. I haven't gone to the physical location of the server to test an RDP connection from that office. IE has always been a bit slower through RDP than on your local desktop. Is there anyway to improve that? Thanks! ~Gretchen
Guest Jeff Pitsch Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Re: RDP Sound skipping What sort of sound are we talking about? Keep in mind that RDP is not optimized for sound in any way so if you are going over slower connections sound will skip (and that's if your lucky). Guest Gretchen Hembree Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Re: RDP Sound skipping I suppose any music. Either a saved sound or streaming sound like live radio. I guess I am getting from you that we shouldn't hope for this. I will be in one of my offices today and am going to play around with it more. Guest Jeff Pitsch Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Re: RDP Sound skipping If you really want sound you should look at Citrix or the upcoming features from Provision Networks.
