file explorer not going to new tabs after being opened

After a recent update when I open a folder in a new tab in file explorer, the new tab opens but the focus stays in the original folder. It was much more useful before the update when you opened a new tab and it would go to the new tab.It's not just my PC affected, so there must be others who have found this annoying change.
