Help Re: KEYBOARD SHORTCUT

Please help me create a keyboard shortcut for the .VBS file that I created

using NOTEPAD.

I have the shortcut on my desktop; the file, when I input the shortcut, such

as

Alt+Shift+Z, is supposed to "sign" my name whenever I type the shortcut.

The problem is I cannot create the shortcut -- I right click on the desktop

icon, select properties, then scroll through the window to the shortcut key

line where the word "none" is written; if I click on it, "none" disappears

and " + + " appears.

IT SEEMS I AM UNABLE TO CREATE A SHORTCUT.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME??

You must use "Ctrl+Alt+ letter"

Re: Help Re: KEYBOARD SHORTCUT

I CANNOT type Ctrl+Alt+ a letter..........because as soon as the word "none"

disappears, I see " + + " in its place, and I cannot type anywhere to the

left of the cursor, which is off to the right. IT IS AS IF I HAVE NO

CURSOR.

Thanks,

Does this happen for all shortcuts? Are you using some "enhancer" software?

Re: Help Re: KEYBOARD SHORTCUT

I do not think I am using any "enhancer" software; but I do not know what

that is......I used to be able to use the shortcut key when I last played

with it...about 3 months ago!

I do not know about other shortcuts.

Basically, THE CURSOR IS FOZEN IN THE 5TH POSITION, AFTER THE WORD, "NONE".

I can type comments...etc., but the shortcut key window area does NOT work!

Re: Help Re: KEYBOARD SHORTCUT

I did as you said...after "none", I pressed the Ctrl key, and I get:

" + + ", with the cursor still stuck in the 5th position....I believe the "

+ + "

is the forebearer of:

"Ctrl+Alt+ "....but nonetheless, I cannot get the cursor out of the 5th

position --- it is frozen there!

Thanks,

The CTRL + ALT gets added automatically. Just position the cursor in

the "Shortcut Key" box and press the *single* character that you want to

use. There are limitations on what characters you can use. For more

info, position the cursor in the "Shortcut Key" box and press F1.

Did you try pressing Ctrl + Alt+ Z anyway? Maybe it will work though

the keys don't show.

If it's already been said, why did you feel the need to jump in with

Do any of the shortcuts listed here work?

Also are you using some special keyboard driver, or keyboard?

Re: Help Re: KEYBOARD SHORTCUT

Aha...I see Murphy is active in this newsgroup as well.

Some background: I am the real Leonard Grey. The rude post copied below

was not created by me. It was created by a disturbed individual named

Murphy.

Murphy is a very angry person, and he is apparently suffering side

effects from taking Rimonabant (brand name: Zimultri, produced by

Sanofi-Adventis.) . Rimonabant is an anti-obesity drug that has been

documented by the United States FDA to cause severe depression.

Murphy's game is to try to impersonate people in these newsgroups, and

then make rude and even revolting posts in their names. He's done it to

nass, he's done it to me, and to others. Unfortunately, there's nothing

anyone can do about it, AFAIK.

It's not hard to tell the difference between posts made me - the real

me - and Murphy's impersonation.

I do not normally post to this newsgroup, and I won't post to this

thread again, so any other posts in this thread that have my name on

them are coming from Murphy.

To the OP: I'm sorry this mess has gotten in the way of your getting the

answer you need.

Thank you, but I do not require a list of Keyboard Shortcuts -- I need the

Keyboarg Shortcut box to work when invoking the "properties" window of a

desktop VBS file icon.

Thanks,

Then perhaps System Restore to the period when it was working correctly,

something has obviously broken it. But I guess "where" will remain a

mystery.
