Going to be putting an i5 3570K on an ASUS MB for new build.

Considering fitting a CPU cooler ..

I am not intending to overclock (at least for now) but thought I could/should fit CPU cooler at time of build.

Alpenföhn Matterhorn Pure Edition CPU Cooler as it's on offer.

In that case I don't need the stock Intel cooler ... can you buy the i5 without the stock cooler ? or do just have to accept it as waste.

Hi

You get the cooler with it as standard. I have that chip in my pc with the stock cooler and its fine, running at about 36 degrees celcius.

Ebuyer have them with and without a cooler.

Should go with an aftermarket cooler? Depends on how far you may want to clock it, light o/c and stock should be ok.

Heavy o/c and trying to push your machine, go with aftermarket.
