Why can't I find my windows activation key?

I am in the process of upgrading my computer hardware. On my old set up I had an OEM DM copy of Windows so I knew that was non transferrable to a new system. I saw that i could purchase the upgrade to windows 10/11 pro that would make it so my license was retail according to the microsoft store. Upon purchase I did not receive a product key and largely saw that when I sign in it should follow me and activate. I swapped out a bunch of pc parts and was asked to activate Windows. I don't have a product code, and so can't do it that way. I logged into my windows account, and it didn't change anyth
