switch to open folder without navigation pane

I have 3 desktop folders which open in the Windows Explorer default style -

ie with a navigation pane on the left and a menu bar at the top.

I would like them to open without these - ie just a plain window.

I believe this can be done by applying suitable switches,

perhaps to the root directory, but don't know how.

Can anyone help please
