Re-installed windows 11 and now my secondary drive is no longer showing up

Hey everyone, I had to reset and reinstall windows 11 on my computer, and after doing so I found that my 1tb HDD was no longer available. My 500gb SSD main drive was present however. I checked in both device manager and disc management, and even after having it scan for hardware changes, they still did not appear. I do know that drives need to be formatted after reinstalling windows, but I don't know how to reformat them without my PC at least knowing they exist. thank you
