Plastic Nev Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Hi Shtatic and welcome to Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help. Though not a graphics expert myself, we could do with knowing the make and model of the motherboard, or at least the make and model of the computer so we can look up what motherboard the manufacturer used, as that is usually one of the issues for compatibility. Plastic Nev Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Hi again, thanks, also the make of computer is helpful, but if a home or privately built one, sorry, I should also have asked for the size of the present power supply as that may need replacement. The minimum recommended main PSU requirements for that card are 500 watts, if yours is less it will have to be replaced. From what little I know though, it may be compatible with that motherboard, but best if you wait for one of our more graphics knowledgeable folk to be sure. Nev. maynardvdm Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Hi Is this your PC: http://www.asus.com/Desktop/Entertainment/Essentio_CM5671/#specifications According to the specs it only has a 300w psu which will need to be upgraded and it has a PCIe slot so the card should fit. The card is 8.25 inches so just make sure you have enough space and the psu has a six-pin pcie connector. Quote We are all members helping other members. Shtatic Posted July 15, 2012 Author Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) Yes, that is my computer. Though I did buy it refurbished from here. So would I be correct in assuming that I will need a replacement part to upgrade the psu? I haven't found anything about the psu in the specs. It is times like this when I realize just how little I know about computers.. I don't know what I would do without people like you guys. :D EDIT: I looked around some more and found another card that I think will run fine with a 300w psu. I do not know if it is compatible further than that. It is an ASUS EAH6670/DIS/1GD5 - ASUS HD6670 graphics card with DirectX®11, HDMI, and Eyefinity support.
